Good luck to Attorney Stefan Cencarik, he’s going to need it because few people know how to say or spell his name correctly. How would you even begin to Google his name if you didn’t first see it in writing?! By the way, Cencarik is pronounced Cen-car-ik (Pronounced: Chen – Chair – idk). He’ll tell you that again and again but you won’t get it without continued practice. I’m just glad his parents didn’t hame him Charlie.
Seriously though, Stefan has opened up the Law Office of Stefan Cencarik, PLLC after most recently being in the partnership of Cencarik & Grantham, P.C. for the past seven years. And before that, Stefan attended Boston University and, later, New England School of Law. Change, as they say, is good.
Stefan and I worked together over the past year in the sale of his parents home located at 240 Water Street, Hanover. I am still appreciative that Stefan trusted me and my abilities enough to refer me to his own family. The sale wasn’t an easy process but I think that Stefan and his parents were, in the end, pleased with my performance. We were able to sell the property for $327,500 which was only $2,400 below our asking price of $329,900 after only having been on the market for seven days.
I made some, in my opinion, important suggestions to the sellers and they, in their trusting wisdom, took most of them. The sellers had bought the house in 2001 and did a wonderful job in restoring it but the backsplash and the counter top by the stove was an old yellow Formica. The issue with the dated Formica may not seem like a big deal but the sellers were unable to sell the property during the previous fall when they had listed the property with William Raveis Real Estate & Home Services at the same $329,900 list price. The sellers seemingly never gave the old yellow Formica a second thought because they were so used to it. It was an eyesore though and we all laughed when they made the realization that it was dated but I still feel as though they’d still be happy to live with it if it weren’t for the impending sale.
The kitchen didn’t need to be rehabilitated but it did need some work to include:
- granite counter tops
- stainless steel dishwasher
- stainless steel range hood
- sink faucet
The kitchen looks much better now.
Stefan was an important voice in backing up and echoing my renovation suggestions. The sellers didn’t take all of my suggestions but he was advocating for what seemed reasonable considering the cost and time associated with each. It may have been a more difficult process without his support.
Stefan worked well with the buyer’s attorney, Matthew T. Walsh of McCarthy and Walsh in Duxbury, and we got the deal done.
