I’m sad to announce that there will not be an Autumn 2017 Stoughton Photo Contest sponsored by Hub Edge Realty. I love photography, and the art form has blown up with sites like Instagram leading the way, but I have other priorities that need to take precedence. The Autumn 2016 Stoughton Photo Contest and the Spring 2017 Stoughton Photo Contest each took about 40 hours each to administer, that’s a full week of work for each contest, and I need to use that time to focus on other priorities.
This couple of years has been the toughest for me, personally, since I started selling real estate in 1999. My partner Kate gave birth to our beautiful daughter, Grace, in July, 2015. My small family moved to Stoughton in January, 2016 after completely rehabilitating a small single family property on Britton’s Pond. I finally got sober after being in a long battle with alcohol abuse in March, 2016. I was diagnosed with skin cancer, a Stage 1A melanoma, in February, 2017. My partner Kate gave birth to our handsome son, John Charles, in February, 2017. My handsome son, J.C., passed away from SIDS related issues unexpectedly in April, 2017. This is not the type of forum to expound on personal issues but a legitimate reason for discontinuing the Stoughton Photo Contest, in my mind, is necessary.
I have to make selling real estate and recruiting agents my direct priorities and both have taken a back seat to everything else I’ve been doing personally. I know I’m a talented real estate broker and I’ve recently regained that confidence in my abilities to help my clients achieve their real estate related goals, whether that’s buying or selling real estate, to the best of my abilities. I’ve recently entered therapy after many years of being away and my therapist and I have uncovered some “stuff” and it’s helping me to cut through the clutter.
I love the Stoughton Photo Contest. It’s a labor of love. Some of the photos have been truly wonderful and you can see the thought processes in the entries the photographers have submitted. Carolyn Owens placed three photos in two contests which included 1st Place in the Autumn 2016 Stoughton Photo Contest. John Stagnone had a 3rd Place finish in the Autumn 2016 Autumn Photo Contest and followed it up with an even better 2nd Place finish in the Spring 2017 Stoughton Photo Contest. Getting to know the judges like Jessie Stansfield, Marc Vasconcellos, Carlos Vargas and Diane Whittaker has been great. Avocados Mexican Restaurant has been gracious in displaying the winning photos.
I may revive the Stoughton Photo Contest but I need to sell more real estate and I also need to recruit more agents before I do. You can help by deciding to work with Hub Edge Realty. Are you interested in selling your property? Buying a property? Becoming a real estate agent? Deciding it’s time to change real estate offices? Hub Edge Realty is your best choice…
I’ve helped my clients buy and sell over $100,000,000 worth of real estate since 1999. I’ve sold land to the former King of Thailand. I’ve helped a client set a record for the most expensive single family property to ever sell in the Adams Shore, Germantown and Hough’s Neck neighborhoods of Quincy. My clients are largely happy and many of them have used my services time and time again. I’d like you to join their ranks.
I appreciate your time in reading this post and thoughtfulness in understanding my rationale…
