10 Carberry Lane, Milton is scheduled to be auctioned by Daniel P. McLaughlin & Co. Auctioneers, LLC on September 9th, 2015 at 1 PM. I’ve decided to highlight this foreclosure auction because there’s a misconception that only properties in historically poorer areas are susceptible to foreclosure auctions. Carberry Lane is a beautiful cul-de-sac located off of Canton Avenue.[mappress mapid=”12″ width=”100%”]
There are only nine houses located on Carberry Lane and not one of them has changed hands since 2010 so that might give you a sense of the exclusivity of the street. In fact, Danny Wood of New Kids on the Black fame used to own 1 Carberry Lane. Foreclosure auctions happen to good people whether they are in historically poorer neighborhoods or in historically wealthier neighborhoods.
I hate the stigma that’s attached to the people that foreclosure affects; they’re treated, too often, like lepers or outcasts at a time when they need the most support. I don’t have a remedy for that stigma but remember that foreclosure can happen to you or me. The vast majority of people have less than six months of financial reserves so a prolonged sickness, whether it’s mental or physical, is all it takes to send a property into the foreclosure process and once one mortgage payment is missed it’s almost impossible to catch up.
Think about that before you judge…
