WCVB-TV’s Chronicle aired a nice segment on Wednesday night that focused on “Affordable Oceanfront Property” which prominently featured Hough’s Neck. I was alerted to the segment when one of my clients texted me a video of his television with one of my real estate signs being displayed on his television’s screen. I thought that that was so cool!
The sign is actually located on my listing at 81 Island Avenue on which will be built a new single family containing 3,500 square feet of airiness with four bedrooms and two and one-half bathrooms and a two car garage. It will feature gorgeous views of Quincy Bay from its balconies, porches and side patio. Nut Island is only a short walk away from the property. You must spend a few hours at Nut Island if you haven’t. It’s beautiful.
Another property that was prominently featured on the segment was 52 Beebe Road, Quincy on Google Maps priced at $399,900 which, as of the writing of this blog on December 19th, is temporarily withdrawn from the market. I showed Beebe Road to a very excited buyer this past summer but he was disappointed, most importantly, by the looks of the foundation. The water is severely encroaching on the property, as you can see in Chronicle’s video, and my buyer was worried about severe New England storms. With that being said, the views from that property are fantastic.
I’ve had a long history with Hough’s Neck. My father rented a little single family property at 41 Sea Avenue back in the early 80s and I used to visit him there on the weekends. I used to help the boaters motoring into either Harvey’s Wharf or Quincy Yacht Club, I can’t quite remember, from a day’s fishing for flounder once in a while for tips. There were a few fish cleaning and filleting stands and I used to watch the older guys gut those fish with enthusiastic dexterity. Hough’s Neck has come a long way and it’s continuing to get better. 41 Sea Avenue just sold for $450,000 on November 3rd.
I’d be glad to help you buy or sell real estate in Hough’s Neck.
